Hummingbird Charities Inc. is a registered Jamaican non-profit rooted in St. Catherine, serving communities right across the island. We focus on practical, hands-on support – food, health care, shoes, and housing – for those who need it most.
Our work is carried out through four core programmes: Hummingbird Feeds – Hot meals and care packages for individuals and families in need. Sole2Sole – Soft, comfortable shoes for children and those affected by hardship or disaster. Bossman Initiative – A mobile men’s health clinic offering screenings, medication (through partners), and health education. Hummingbird Builds – Housing starts and basic repairs for vulnerable families who need safer shelter.
We listen to our people. Communities are selected through referrals from schools, churches, health authorities, community leaders, and our partners, with priority given to high-need and disaster-affected areas.
You can partner with us by: Making a financial donation Donating items (food, shoes, hygiene products, school supplies, etc.) Sponsoring a specific outreach, such as a feeding day, shoe distribution, or mobile clinic visit Details on how to give can be found on our Donate page.
Yes, we welcome corporate and group partners. You can support a single event or an ongoing programme through funding, in-kind donations, or volunteer teams. Contact us and we’ll work with you to design a sponsorship that fits your CSR or outreach goals.

Definitely. We love it when groups serve together. We can arrange activities around planned outreaches and special events, so your team can plug in meaningfully.
We manage each project with a budget, keep proper financial records, and provide updates to our Board, donors, and partners. On request, we can share summaries of the impact of the projects you support.
We collect only what we need – for example, names, ages, shoe sizes, and locations – so we can plan properly, distribute fairly, and avoid duplication. We keep this information secure and use it only for our programmes. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.
Yes, we share photos and videos to show the impact of the work and to celebrate our communities and partners. Wherever possible, we let participants know that photos and videos may be taken. If you or your child appears in a photo and you would like it removed, just contact us, and we will do our best to assist.
